Jules Verne Campus wins the gut.gekocht.gewinnt Award for Sustainable Catering

In our quality surveys over the past years, excellent catering, designed environment, and all-day care have been among the top three service factors at Jules Verne Campus. So we are especially pleased to announce that our JVC Oasis team, led by Frau Anja Jüllich, has won the gut.gekocht.gewinnt competition!

Gut.gekocht.gewinnt, in cooperation with the Kompetenzzentrum für Ernährung (Competence Center for Nutrition), supports educational institutions in Bavaria with concepts and measures with a focus on sustainability – showing that communal catering in Bavaria is already setting a good example. JVC is among the top seven institutions in Bavaria! As a Bavarian Climate School and European Environmental School, we place great importance on sustainable eating. Examples from JVC include: regional ingredients, organic quality, Campus dining culture, and vegan and vegetarian options. Our commitment and innovative approaches to sustainable communal catering impressed the jury both on paper and on Campus.

In March 2024, representatives were invited to a photo shoot on Campus to celebrate the success and create a brochure about the award. We received a prize money of 1,000 EUR, which will be used for a necessary renovation in the Oasis kitchen. The award was presented to us at a ceremonial closing event at the Ministry of Nutrition, Agriculture, and Forestry in April 2024 personally. We also thank our catering cooperation partner, Katerine, for the support in winning this prestigious award!

Do we dare to do what we dream? Of course. That's exactly what our Oasis Dream Team does every day. Congratulations again on the well-deserved success and thank you very much for your dedication and commitment!

Kind regards,
Dr. Kerrie Elston-Güttler & the JVC Team
