Jules Verne Campus is Now a Climate School!: Bronze Award

We have great news at the beginning of the new 2022/2023 school year! As you may know, our long-term goal is to achieve climate neutrality for our learning house. In this context, we would like to make our entire school family aware of this crucial topic and in May 2022, we applied to become a so-called Bavarian Climate School for both our Elementary and Grammar Schools. A cross-Campus team consisting of learning guides, pedagogical staff, administration, and management was able to successfully complete the first nine steps on the way to becoming a climate school: the first measures on Campus have already been realized or initiated. Our application required extensive preparation by calculating the current energy consumption, or CO2 footprint, of the entire learning house, by defining potential energy savings, and by drawing up plans to promote sustainable measures on Campus.

In September, we were informed by the Bavarian State Ministry of Education that our application was accepted and our efforts rewarded. As a result, the Jules Verne Elementary School and the Jules Verne Grammar School were awarded the "Bavarian Climate Schools 2022" status in the bronze category! The certificates and plaques were presented by the State Minister for Education, Professor Michael Piazolo, and the State Minister for the Environment and Consumer Protection, Thorsten Glauber, at a special ceremony on September 28, 2022, at Nymphenburg Palace. Representatives from all schools and departments on Campus proudly attended the event as delegates from JVC.
