Have you ever wondered why JVC students go and brag about how awesome their school is? That is because it is! Why? Here are ten outstanding reasons why JVC is so outstanding!

  • The meals and snacks cooked by the Oasis team are some of the best ones that I have had!
  • There is so much movement! Each student has movement breaks throughout the day.
  • We have Sports almost every day.
  • There are so many fun field trips. For example, you get to go to the fire department and grades 3 and 4 get to go to the pool every Friday afternoon for half the school year!
  • There are tournaments! If you were picked to join a team, you then compete against other schools.
  • The learning guides are kind, helpful, and most of them are even bilingual!
  • In most classes the schedule changes every day, which makes it really fun to come in through the door in the morning and wonder, “What do we have today?”
  • It is great that it is no problem if you only speak German, or only English.
  • The learning partners are so friendly, so it is easy to make friends!
  • The school staff are very friendly and are always smiling.

In ninth grade, I joined JVC without knowing much about Germany and its school system. My native language is Turkish. But as soon as I stepped inside JVC, all my worries vanished. The school was amazing—the building, the classrooms, even the garden. My classmates were friendly and helpful, and the teachers were kind and supportive as I adjusted to everything. I got better at German and English, and the lessons were never boring; they were interactive and enjoyable.
And the food? It was like eating at a fancy restaurant every day! Even though I only spent two years here because I moved to another country, I made so many special memories.
